MacRumors has revealed that Apple is nearing a public release of iOS 7.1.2, which will reportedly address an email attachment encryption issue and a lock screen bug that potentially allows access to certain apps. The email encryption flaw was first noticed by security researcher Andreas Kurtz last month and is reportedly present in iOS versions dating back to 7.0.4 and includes the current iOS 7.1.1. Apple states on its site that it deploys data encryption methods to protect users’ email attachments. According to MacRumors, Apple has begun seeding carriers a version of iOS 7.1.2, dubbed build 11D257, requesting that they sign off the update by next Friday, June 27. Article
