9to5Mac has shared a couple of photos showing the LCD panel of the purported 5.5-inch model of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 6. According to the site, the photos were obtained via tech blogger Sonny Dickson, who has been a highly reliable source of Apple product leaks in the past. As seen from the images, the LCD panel has a 14 cm diagonal measurement, which is equivalent to approximately 5.5-inches. Apple is heavily rumoured to be launching the iPhone 6 in two screen sizes, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch, with the former model having seen a fair amount of part leaks in recent months. Rumours have been less rampant for the 5.5-inch variant, with dummy models only showing up last week. Both models are expected to feature an upgraded A8 processor and an improved camera with optical image stabilisation. Claims of the 5.5-inch model utilising a sapphire screen have also been floated previously, but a recent report has hinted that Apple has managed to obtain enough sapphire to meet production demands for both models. Apple will reportedly launch both models of the iPhone 6 in the second half of the year, with the 4.7-inch model expected to come early due to production constraints for the 5.5-inch variant. Article
